OFFICIALS & AGE MARSHALL TRAINING DAY CHANGED TO SUNDAY 12th SEPTEMBER 2010 - 10:30am - 4:30pm

Hi Everyone,

We have had to reschedule the Officials & Age Marshall Training Day. I apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.

The new date is the day after our first practice day. It is hoped that this will give our new parents an understanding of what is required of our Officials and Age Marshall's and give them an opportunity to attend the training and help support their kids and the club.

We have scheduled the start time for 10:30am to allow for some family and faith time in the morning. We should finish by 4:30pm.

The day is mostly practical demonstration and information sessions held out on the arena so bring a hat, drink bottle and suitable clothing.

We are also holding the LAQ "D" Grade Officials exam at the end of the practical sessions. This is an open book exam with heaps of support provided. I don't know of anyone ever failing this exam. It is very easy and mostly just common sense. If you have spent the time, effort and energy in doing the practical training it makes sense to do the exam at end. Then you will be a qualified "D" Grade LAQ Official.

I have listed a basic agenda for the day below

SUNDAY 12th September

10:30 - 11:00  Introduction to Officials and Age Marshall's training

11:00 - 12:00  Jumps (Long, High & Triple Jump) - Practical

12:00 - 1:00   Throws (Shot Put, Discus, Javelin) - Practical

1:00  -  2:00   Lunch - BYO Lunch. I am sure someone will do a Maccas run.

2:00  - 3:00    Track - (Starting, Time Keeping, Sprint, Middle, Hurdle, Relay) - Practical

3:00  - 3:15    Conclusion to Officials and Age Marshall's training

3:15 - 4:30     LAQ "D" Grade Officials exam.
